1995 Wisconsin NAFA State Tournament

Bowl defeated the Wausau Marksmen in the "if" game to claim the
championship title of the Wisconsin NAFA State Tournament 9-3. The
state champs have now won 9 of 10 games in the state tournament play
over the last two years.
Evansville opened with a 1-0 win over Schmidt's Ballroom, then beat Wausau Rep & Brums 3-1 before losing the winning bracket finals to the Wausau Marksmen 6-2. They made the finals with a 5-1 win over Rep & Brums and they won the first championship game 5-4. The Marksmen topped County Concrete II 7-0, then beat Rice Lake Old Milwaukee 5-3 to reach the winning bracket finals. Rep & Brums finished third and Old Milwaukee fourth. It was the second consecutive third place finish for Rep & Brums. Evansville struck first in the "if" game, scoring three in the second, taking advantage of two walks and two errors. Then next inning they stretched their lead to 5-0 on a Darin Magee two run double. In the 4th they upped their margin to 8-0, on two errors, a walk, and a Joe Benash single. The Marksmen tallied three in the 5th on rbi hits by Tim Sikorski and Tom Marquardt. Evansville added one run in the seventh on a lead off pinch single by Keith Sarbacker who later scored on an error. Larry Cushman hurled the win allowing nine hits but stranding 11 base runners. In the first championship game, Mark Zee had three singles, Joe Benash had a pair of doubles and Earl Lomas homered. Mike White and Larry Cushman combined the pitching duties with White getting the win. Andy Martin had a two run double in the 5th for the Marksmen.
