MILLER LITE WINS FIRST NAFA CROWN WAUSAU-Miller Lite swept five games to capture the Wisconsin NAFA state tournament beating New Image of Montford 4-2 in the finals. They reached the finals with a 3-2 winning bracket final win over the same team. New Image beat the Wausau Marksmen 9-0 to get to the finale. The Marksmen lost their first game and then won four straight. Miller Lite opened with a 4-0 win over Wausau Rep & Baja's, then topped Oregon Anderson Premier Homes 2-0 and reached the winning bracket finals with a 2-0 win over Evansville Bowl. New Image beat J&D of Schofield 4-2, Wason's Supper Club of Galesville 3-0, Tony franks 10-2 before losing their first game to the eventual champions. In the championship game, Chris Timm led off the bottom of the first with a triple and scored on another triple by Gary Kloes to make it 1-0 in favor of Miller Lite. The next inning, Miller Lite added three more on a double by Jeff Hauschel, Dan Abts reached on a hit by pitch, Timm walked to load the bases with two out and then Jon Zipperer doubled to make it 4-0. New Image rounded off the scoring in the fourth on a leadoff walk to Adam Bussman, Jeff Andrews was hit by a pitch, Jamie Ziegler singled to make it 4-2 with no outs. Dave Miller came in to pitch and struck out the next three batters. Miller struck out nine in four innings of hitless relief. Brent Holman took the loss, allowing just six hits. Timm singled, tripled, walked, and scored two runs. Ziegler had two singles for New Image.
